Creating and maintaining a community of leaders

Our mission is to build a strong community of diverse conservation leaders, dedicated to increasing inclusivity in our field while addressing the pressing conservation challenges of today.

Conservation Collaborative unites environmental science, conservation, and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to create a more effective, more inclusive, conservation field. Our Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program (DDCSP) Collaborative, has become an important pipeline for graduate programs, agencies, and organizations. Over the past 10 years, the DDCSP Collaborative has formed a wide community of diverse, skilled conservation professionals who are addressing today's conservation challenges and contributing to a more diverse and equitable field.

The complexities of biodiversity loss and climate change underscore the importance of embracing diverse perspectives and ensuring full participation in conservation careers. Our efforts focus on fostering a transformation in community attitudes towards conservation and inclusivity, aiming to cultivate a culture of understanding, collaboration, and shared commitment within the conservation community, while providing pathways into meaningful careers that address these global challenges.

Our unwavering commitment to integrating conservation with principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion stands at the heart of our mission. Conservation Collaborative continues to adapt to the times we live in, inspiring and catalyzing this essential shift in community attitudes, paving the way for a sustainable and inclusive future in conservation.
