During the Second Summer

Internships

During their second summer in the program, scholars are placed into 8-week long professional internships with conservation agencies, non-profit organizations, or tribes. Scholars work with Program Leaders and the Program Director to identify experiences that will help them toward their career goals and give them the experience of working in that field. Organizations and internships are carefully chosen with the interests of each scholar in mind. Scholars are paid a weekly stipend and provided with housing, food, and travel allowances.
